Hallucinating Spirits
This diptych explores the fragile boundary between absence and presence, between what reveals itself and what escapes the gaze. The work questions our relationship to matter and spirit, to what is tangible and what remains unseen. Do we all perceive in the same way this intangible envelope that shapes us, or is our inner vision always fragmented, subjective, and in constant flux?
In this series, the human figure appears divided, incomplete, marked by voids. Certain parts of the body emerge with an almost physical intensity, while others fade, dissolving into space. This interplay of appearance and disappearance is not merely an aesthetic choice. It suggests a gesture of protection, a desire for control in the face of the external gaze. To reveal oneself without fully exposing, to preserve areas of shadow, to cultivate mystery. But protection from whom, and from what? From judgment, projection, interpretation? Or from one’s own inner power?
These spectral silhouettes become surfaces of projection. They do not embody a fixed identity but a multiplicity of possibilities. I am the image you choose to perceive, and through your gaze I become countless versions of myself. Identity fragments, transforms, and continually reinvents itself in relation to the other.
The humanoid form is never entirely stable. It oscillates between materiality and dissolution, between embodiment and erasure. This instability creates a subtle tension, a presence that feels both familiar and unfamiliar. The viewer is invited to enter this uncertain space where the self fragments in order to redefine itself. The work offers no definitive answer. Instead, it opens a shifting inner landscape where absence and presence coexist in a fragile balance.

Visions spectrales
Cette œuvre en deux tableaux explore la frontière fragile entre absence et présence, entre ce qui se manifeste et ce qui échappe au regard. L’œuvre interroge notre rapport à la matière et à l’esprit, à ce qui est tangible et à ce qui reste invisible. Percevons-nous tous de la même manière cette enveloppe impalpable qui nous constitue, ou notre vision intérieure est-elle toujours fragmentée, subjective, changeante ?
Dans cette série, la figure humaine apparaît morcelée, incomplète, traversée de vides. Certaines parties du corps émergent avec une intensité presque physique tandis que d’autres s’effacent, comme dissoutes dans l’espace. Ce jeu d’apparition et de disparition ne relève pas seulement d’un choix esthétique. Il évoque un mouvement de protection, une volonté de contrôle face au regard extérieur. Se montrer sans tout révéler, laisser subsister des zones d’ombre, installer un mystère autour de soi. Mais se protéger de qui, et de quoi ? Du jugement, des projections, de l’interprétation ? Ou de sa propre puissance intérieure ?
Ces silhouettes spectrales deviennent des surfaces de projection. Elles ne portent pas une identité fixe mais une multiplicité de possibles. Je suis l’image que tu choisis de percevoir, et à travers ton regard je deviens d’innombrables versions de moi-même. L’identité se fragmente, se transforme, se réinvente au contact de l’autre.
L’humanoïde n’est jamais totalement stable. Il oscille entre matérialité et dissolution, entre incarnation et effacement. Cette instabilité crée une tension subtile, une présence à la fois familière et étrangère. Le spectateur est invité à pénétrer cet espace incertain où l’être se fragmente pour mieux se redéfinir. L’œuvre ne donne pas de réponse définitive. Elle ouvre un territoire intérieur mouvant, où absence et présence coexistent dans un équilibre fragile.
